Actress Valerie Bertinelli and businessman Tom Vitale are divorced.
The duo met shortly after Bertinelli divorced her first husband, late guitarist Eddie Van Halen, with whom she shares her son Wolfgang Van Halen.
She was introduced to Vitale by her brother, Patrick Bertinelli, while she was visiting her parents in Scottsdale, Arizona.
Valerie Bertinelli and Tom Vitale got engaged in March 2010 after dating for six years.
The former couple tied the knot on January 1, 2011, in their Malibu home in front of 100 guests.
During their 10-year marriage, Bertinelli and Vitale co-founded the e-commerce company Veebow. Vitale also appeared on his wife’s TV sitcom Hot in Cleveland (2012), and her Food Network show Valerie’s Home Cooking (2015-2020).
Valerie Bertinelli filed for legal separation from Tom Vitale in November 2021, citing “irreconcilable differences.” She then amended her petition to ask for a divorce in May 2022, which was finalized in November 2022.
Bertinelli, described the day on Twitter as the “second best day” of her life. “My lawyer just called. The papers are all signed. They’re about to be filed,” she said in a video. “On 11/22/22, I am officially f—— divorced. Happily divorced. Finally. It’s finally over.”
As part of the divorce settlement, Bertinelli is reportedly required to pay over $2.2 million to Vitale.
