John is renowned for his three stints as the Red Hot Chili Peppers guitarist. He has 11 solo albums and 7 EPs, with influences varying from acoustic guitar to musical instruments.
After the demise of guitarist Hillel Slovak, Frusciante joined the Chili Peppers at the age of 18 and made his first appearance on their album Mother’s Milk. His second record with the group was a tremendous success.

The Slovak guitarist for the Chili Peppers died from a drug overdose in 1988. Shortly afterward, drummer Jack Irons decided to leave the group.
The leftover group members of the group hired Peligro to play drums and DeWayne McKnight to play guitar. However, McKnight did not fit with the band, and Flea recommended trying out Frusciante.
