Orlando Jones started his career as a writer/creator/producer on shows like Different World, Roc and the Sinbad Show. Before he penned such classic sitcoms, Jones together with fellow actor Michael Fechter launched Homeboy’s Production and Advertising. They worked on several high-profile projects, including the McDonald’s commercial featuring basketball legend Michael Jordan. In the early 1990s, Jones made a name for himself, making guest appearances in popular sitcoms. Jones was about to make a bigger name for himself as he become one of the cast of MADtv in 1995. Unlike his fellow cast, he had little comedy experience. Jones left the show in 1997. When Jones became the Spokesperson for 7 Up (from 1999-2002), it opened a new world of opportunities for him.
